My dear grandmother finds her strength within the Word of God, and she tells her loved ones, "Find your Psalm." A short breath of air is all it takes to create a phrase guided by wisdom and a life of discipleship. From my personal views, I have always thought that God's Word is uniquely interpreted by His children; one verse may not resonate the same with everyone. This beautiful truth was confirmed by my grandmother's phrase: "Find your Psalm." My Psalm may not be her Psalm, and that is what makes it all the more special. Find your verse, find your comfort, find the Song that sings to you most intimately. This short, sweet saying from an even sweeter soul prompted me to write this poem. A poem that came to me as I was lying in bed late at night. I guess the best ideas come from sleep deprivation.
Happy Birthday, Grandma Beeda. I will find my Psalm.
______________
Find your Psalm.
Make it as known as the crevices on your palm.
Sing praises to the Lord,
find peace within His precious piece.
May you not worry
May you not forget
that the Almighty has blessed your soul
with an ode of His goodness to be kept.
Find your Psalm.
Hold it close, tattoo the lines on your heart's deepest crest.
May it be a reminder that the Lord your God
is found within your mind's depth.
A verse of words, words that breathe life.
Words that to some do not sing such Holy praises,
but for the beloved daughter
This is your Psalm.
_______________
What will be your Psalm? The verse that brings you strength, the verse that is a steady reminder of your God's promises, of His goodness. May you find your Psalm, and may it bless you all of your days.
