Remember
- My Mind Expressed

I remember you as I remember
how a cloud floats away
with the car’s speed:
I saw you and then I forgot your shape.
You waste me away and
I don’t care that I still know your name.
For how long have I known you as
the bug from which I need to
bleach my sheets,
scrub my scalp,
burn my skin just to escape?
I’m embarrassed by you.
They pull me apart and see
your face laughing at my depths.
So hard I try, you follow me
every
step.
To be frank, I don’t care who you
were to me.
Our plans made meaningless with your belongings.
But still, no one told me you would
pester me so relentlessly.
You define my lack of memory.
And still, you’re embedded in every shape.
